Description

Australia was originally named Terra Nullius, which means 'Empty Land'
The Australian Aborigines were not recognised as people, as even human . .
For years they were labelled as part of Australia's flora and fauna, as though they were just part of the landscape . .

In Tasmania they were hunted for sport
The last full-blooded Aborigine in Tasmania died in 1876

They were 'bred' with European settlers, so that their children could be 'assimilated'
Their children were all taken away from them to be brought up 'white'
This happened in, but was not limited to 1906 - 1969
These children were called the 'stolen generation'

Australian Aborigine's were officially given the vote in 1962

An official apology was given from the Australian government to Aborigines . . . . in 2008 . .

. . .

AUSTRALIA . . .

 ILU

It makes me so sad - whenever I hear stories about this - The aborigine culture is so amazing and beautiful
I just can't comprehend . .
It may not be perfect in New Zealand either - but nothing ever on this scale
Though this may have something to do with the fact that the indigenous people of NZ are naturally warriors - while Australian indigenous were peaceful wanderers

ENGLAND YOU BASTARD . . DX

OMG - I should really be asleep
Instead I went and made this depressing comic/story/thing
I am experimenting with words and images as you can see . .
I should really go to bed . . it's 4am . .
